Learning awards

The Adult Learners' Week Awards recognise adults with remarkable learning journeys.

Nominating friends, family or colleagues for an Adult Learners' Week Award not only celebrates their achievements but recognises their inspirational commitment to learning and the positive affect this has had on their life.

If you know someone whose learning has had life-changing results that inspire you, nominate them for an Adult Learners' Week Award. Winners often become powerful role models to inspire others to learn.

Individuals, families, groups and projects can be nominated, and for 2010, there are a series of special Award categories:

  • the Digital Participation Award (sponsored by the BBC) celebrates learning where the use of new technology has been central;
  • the Intergenerational Award (sponsored by the MLA) rewards learning across generations in the Museums, Libraries and Archives sector;
  • the Foundation Degree Award (sponsored by FDF) recognises an outstanding adult learner on a foundation degree;
  • the Power of Reading Award (sponsored by Booktrust) celebrates learning where reading or writing has inspired an outstanding learning journey; and
  • the NOCN Outstanding Achievement Award (sponsored by the National Open College Network) will recognise outstanding learning on an OCN programme.

It has never been easier to nominate someone for their remarkable learning journey.

“I've rediscovered a passion for learning that I'd lost as a child. For the first time I've been able to show what I'm capable of.”
