Taj’s passion for sports and drive to encourage others to get involved has seen her travel to India to coach other students and volunteering on a multitude of sport projects. She is now well on her way to realising her dream of becoming a P.E. teacher.

Taj has completed many sports courses, including: Basketball Level 2 Referee course, Hockey Umpiring Course, Level 2 Football qualification as well as a Level 2 Gym instructor course that allows her to work as a qualified gym instructor at her local gym. After completing her degree, Taj hopes to progress onto completing a PGCE and become secondary school P.E. teacher

Taj’s enthusiasm for volunteering began with the Step into Sport programme where she juggled her studies at Loughborough College and over 200 hours of volunteering. She volunteered for a number of different projects including; the 2012 Olympic Legacy Project, Your Sport Competition for local sixth form students, the Loughborough College Leadership Academy as well as the British College Sport (BCS) Championships.

Taj was also selected to join the first ever BCS Ambassadors Programme (now known as the National Youth Council) as part of the Lead Further Charity. Taj’s involvement with the group led to her promotion to Vice Chairman of the BCS council.

Senior Administrator at BCS, Vanessa Bowen said, “Taj has made sport and volunteering fun and rewarding, she is vibrant, enthusiastic and gives her all to the projects or event she is involved with.”
