Nurun Nahar Zorna-Hoque
Nurun Nahar Zorna-Hoque has transformed into an active adult learner, volunteer and working mother.
In 2013, Nurun participated in nine courses with Idea Store Learning, lost weight, blossomed in confidence and paved the way for others to follow in her footsteps.
Nurun wanted to support her children with their homework and to gain key skills for the workplace. Starting with traditional literacy and numeracy qualifications, Nurun then branched out into IT.
She also took part in a Health Ambassadors Programme at Stewart Headlam Primary School, which introduced her to dance and fitness courses at Idea Store Learning.
After completing literacy and numeracy courses, Nurun applied to be a Learner Volunteer at Idea Store Learning where she now supports fellow learners.
Nurun has started work at mobile phone shop and is proud to call herself a working mum. She is currently completing a Level 1 European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL).
Nurun’s nominator, Jasmine Hossain from Idea Store Learning, said: “It has been a pleasure to see how Nurun has grown as a person and professionally.
“This has been the result of hard work and commitment. She has had a phenomenal impact on others as a role model and as a Learner Volunteer.”
Nurun added: “I cannot believe how far my life has moved on since this time last year. I know that I have come a long way, but the best part is knowing that I can go even further, that my journey has only just begun.”
