WorldSkills

NIACE is working in partnership with WorldSkills London 2011 and the associated ‘Have a Go’ campaign to make a lasting and positive legacy for vocational skills.

This unique national campaign aims to provide one million opportunities for people to try new skills, by encouraging organisations across the UK to hold ‘Have a Go’ activities.

Why get involved?

Taking part in the campaign provides you with an excellent chance to attract learners to your organisation. By holding taster activities linked to the national publicity, you can give participants a flavour of what you have to offer.

How can I get involved?

  • Run 'Have a Go' activities and advertise your events online, for free
  • Use WorldSkills resources to help you badge your activities as WorldSkills events.
  • Order New Horizons, a free motivational magazine to give away to learners and potential learners.
  • Follow us on Twitter and tell us about your experiences using the #WorldSkills hashtag.

What is a Have a Go activity?

Have a Go activities are free taster sessions that aim to get people across the UK involved in discovering new skills. They should be fun, inspirational and designed to be interactive in order to engage adults of all ages. The activities should also inform adults of the opportunities open to them with the aim of encouraging them back into learning.
