Inspiring Learning Projects

The nominations for Adult Learners’ Week awards are now closed. Thank you to all nominators and learners who have submitted their forms; these are now being entered into the shortlisting and selection panel process and all learners and projects will be contacted by the beginning of April 2012.

The Adult Learners’ Week Awards recognise and celebrate the achievements of inspiring learning projects. Award winners often become inspirational role models for other adults, encouraging them to give learning a go.

In 2012, special awards will also be presented to winners, these include:

  • European Social Fund (ESF) Awards - recognising learning that has improved skills and employability as part of an ESF-funded programme.
  • Digital Participation Award (Sponsored by the BBC) - recognising learning where the use of new technology and/or broadcasting has been central to learning opportunities.
  • Learning Where You Are Award (Sponsored by the Open University) - recognising outstanding and inspiring projects that have worked with their learners to provide original, innovative and creative ways to engage and support learners in challenging contexts throughout their learning journey.

Everyone nominated for an Adult Learners’ Week Award will receive a Certificate of Achievement. Winners will receive a learning voucher, valued between £200 and £1000, and will be presented with their awards at a ceremony during Adult Learners’ Week (12 - 18 May 2012).

These awards are for learners and projects in England only. For Adult Learners’ Week in Wales please visit the NIACE Dysgu Cymru website.
