Eligibility
Inspiring Learning Project nominations
The Inspiring Learning Project Awards (sponsored by The Open University) celebrate creativity and innovation in providing opportunities for adults to learn. These awards are open to all organisations - businesses, trade unions, the voluntary and community sector as well as local authorities, colleges, family learning and commercial organisations – any organisation who provides learning opportunities.
We are interested in projects that celebrate originality in their approach, show a clear route of progression and above all, evidence of a positive impact on learners.
- Projects must have been running for a minimum of nine months as at 28 January 2011 and be ongoing.
- The nominated projects should provide, or engage people in, learning opportunities for adults who are aged 18 and over on 28 January 2011.
Projects are also eligible for additional awards:
- the European Social Fund Awards - [PDF] (sponsored by ESF) will recognise innovative projects that have provided opportunities for adults to learn with the support of the European Social Fund;
- the Digital Participation Award (sponsored by BBC) will recognise learning where the use of new technology has been central to learning opportunities;
- the Inspiring Family Learning Project Award (sponsored by the Specialist Schools and Academies Trust) recognises an innovative project that has opened up opportunities for families to learn together, in partnership with a specialist school, academy or college.
- the Community Learning Champions Award - [PDF] (sponsored by the Community Learning Champions Support Programme) will recognise the impact that the Community Learning Champions working together and in partnership can have on the lives of others and on their community.
If you are nominating a Community Learning Champions project, please complete all the relevant sections about the project and describe the impact of Community Learning Champions on learners in the Learner's Journey section (part 3 of the form).
* All award categories are open to learners living in England only. Nominate an inspiring learning project.
Nominations submitted by 20 December 2010 will be entered for a FREE prize draw for the chance to win £200 worth of learning vouchers to spend on learning resources for your organisation. Nominations close at 5pm, Friday 28 January 2011.
